The Peak Lupe 2054 measuring microscope differs from the 2034 series by featuring an aluminum base and a different focusing mechanism. Rapid focusing with the rack-and-pinion focus knob provides a significant advantage in speed and precision. The short optical path through the microscope causes the object to be displayed inverted. A robust aluminum base guarantees stability even for the standard version, but if desired, acrylic bases are available to improve visibility of the object being inspected.
Seven types of lenses are available: 2x, 4x, 6x, 10x, 15x, 20x, and 30x. The eyepiece has a magnification factor of 10x, and the focal plane is equipped with a scale. Contamination of the scale with dust is not possible thanks to the Huygens design with the focal plane within the lens system. The lens closest to the eye can be moved by turning the setting ring, allowing the scale to be adjusted to match the eye’s refraction. Lenses with different magnification factors can be replaced by simply pulling out the current one and inserting a new lens.
Side lighting makes measurements on dark surfaces or in dark rooms possible. Two 1.5-volt AA batteries are required for operation. The microscope is delivered in a padded carrying case that offers secure storage for an additional four lenses as accessories.
An eight-megapixel miniature USB camera with a built-in lens and autofocus function can be ordered and easily attached to the eyepiece using an adapter. This allows images to be displayed and saved on a laptop or PC either with the original camera driver (English only) or with the metric BE software (24 languages). The images from this compact industrial-quality camera are highly impressive.
Using the optional MKH stand provides the 2054 series microscopes with greater stability. This is an important accessory for reliable inspection of objects on rollers.
