One of the main advantages of the Peak Lupe 2034 measuring microscope is its ease of use. Simply position the microscope over the area to be measured and focus – that’s all. Thanks to the clear surface of the acrylic base, the object can be viewed from all angles, making it easy to locate the object to be magnified. The short optical path through the microscope causes the object to be displayed inverted.
Available with magnification factors of 20, 40, 60x, 100x, 150x, 200x, and 300x, the Peak Lupe 2034 microscope is used for measuring the length, thickness, height, or depth of objects with different levels.
The optical system consists of a lens and an eyepiece. All lenses are coated for sharp, high-contrast images. Seven types of lenses are available: 2x, 4x, 6x, 10x, 15x, 20x, and 30x. The eyepiece has a magnification factor of 10x, and the focal plane is equipped with a scale. Dust cannot enter the scale due to the Huygens design with the focal plane within the lens system. The lens closest to the eyepiece can be moved by turning the setting ring, allowing the scale to be adjusted to match the eye’s correction of the object. The eyepiece, together with the lens, provides the magnification factor (the object lens) can be replaced by pulling it out and substituting it with another lens.
Depth measurements with an accuracy of 0.1 mm are obtained by using the scale engraved on the focusing ring together with the needle on the microscope housing. Simply focus on different levels of an object and then read the difference on the scale.
Side lighting enables measurements on dark surfaces or in dark rooms. Two 1.5-volt AA batteries are required for operation. The microscope is supplied in a padded carrying case that offers safe transport with space for an additional four lenses as accessories.
An eight-megapixel, miniature USB camera with a built-in lens and autofocus can be ordered and easily mounted on the eyepiece using an adapter. This allows images to be displayed and saved on a laptop or PC, either using the original camera driver (English only) or with METRICA BE software (24 languages). The images from this compact, industrial-quality camera are highly impressive.
