Can an extravagant magnifying glass like the MAG-10 be improved? This lens has disproven the old dichotomy that the field of view is automatically reduced at higher magnification factors. Despite its 12x magnification, the lens has a 15 mm field of view when placed at the eye. At a distance of 10 centimeters, it is still approx. 6 mm, and at 20 centimeters approx. 5 mm. The lenses have an anti-reflective coating. The optical system consists of three lenses divided into two groups.

An optional LED lighting unit can be inserted into the recess in the lens mount. The cover can then be closed again. This extra lighting eliminates all dark spots. The LED lighting unit cannot be used with the MAG-10 or MAG-20.
The color-corrected lenses in the Beta loupe are just one of the reasons for its extreme popularity, as it makes it possible to clearly identify individual halftone dots at a distance of 20 centimeters. Another major advantage is that the increased distance between the eye and the lens prevents shadows from falling on the object being inspected. These loupes are equipped with a special optical system which makes them ergonomic and a joy for the eye.
