Handheld magnifier with extra lens, Peak Lupe 1989. Magnification 3x

This handheld magnifier from Peak Lupe, model 1989, is an improved version of conventional magnifiers. The excellent quality of the silicate glass lens, which is also resistant to scratches and solvents, provides a magnified image that is extremely sharp and clear.

It features a bi-convex crown glass lens made of optically pure white glass, produced with UV-absorbing crown glass; of the same type of glass used for corrective eyeglasses (refractive index n = 1.52). A small lens with a 20 mm diameter is glued to the large lens with a 75 mm diameter. The large lens has a magnification factor of 2.5 x; the small lens has a magnification of 5 x.
