The electronic measuring scale has become a standard instrument in the graphic arts industry in many countries, for applications where the exact length of measurements is performed significantly more easily. The hardened guide made of stainless steel is equipped with an inductive readhead. It provides the electronics with information about the instantaneous position of the measuring carriage, making it free from wear, for example, unlike longitudinal ball bearings. The coated, four-lens optical system with a 10x magnification factor makes it possible to move to the exact measuring point. The magnifier has a fine focus for adaptation to your specific correction and is equipped with a hair cross for exact positioning of the measuring carriage. The hard chrome-plated graduations on this plate ensure exact measuring values.
A clever parallax control ensures that the viewing angle is perpendicular to the lens. The easy-to-read display with six-millimeter high characters shows a maximum resolution of 0.10 millimeter or 0.0005 inch. A fine adjustment is located immediately next to the display. The horizontal position screw moves the carriage sensitively to the measuring point. The zero point of the measurement can then be set by pressing the reset button. After moving the carriage to the second measuring point, the result can be read on the display. The system has an RS232 interface. This allows serial transfer of the values to the computer. An RS232-compatible interface cable with optical coupling, as an alternative, is available for data transfer.
