Description
82-RL-B-6 Magnifying Glasses & Loupes > Crack Loupes
Crack loupe of the highest absolute quality, available in 6x, 8x, and 10x magnification. The lenses in the RL-B 6x and 8x consist of two aplanatically arranged plano-convex optical glass lenses. The RL-B-10 is produced using an achromatic (two lenses joined together) and two single lenses. This makes the Crack Loupe RL-B-10 10x magnification apochromatic (APO).

Like the RL version, these models feature a 0.1 mm graduation (a matte-chromed brass reticle plate with laser engraving) positioned at a 30° angle at the bottom. This measuring instrument can be focused using height-adjustable lens systems (sliding focus). The crack loupe is particularly suitable for inspection and measurement in the metalworking industry. For this application, the metal scale is superior to a glass scale. The angled layout provides good light entry while preventing reflections, making the scale very easy to read. The limit of the metal graduation is approximately 40 µm. This crack loupe is preferred by technicians and appraisers in the construction sector for measuring the width of cracks in concrete. Naturally, the scales are available to order separately as spare parts.
An apochromatic lens system combines the high optical standard of the aplanatic lens with the chromatic aberration correction of an achromatic lens, making it particularly suitable for rendering the true color of an object while providing a very good, distortion-free image. It also offers a larger working distance and significantly better light transmission. These higher-quality lenses are also the reason for the price increase in the 8x to 10x versions. A special feature of both the RL-B-6 and RL-B-8 versions is that the lenses provide an 8° angle of the scale. In comparison, the RL-B-10 has a completely vertical view. On all RL-B models, the inside of the adjustment base has a matte white finish to ensure uniform light distribution. The stable metal construction guarantees a long service life for these crack loupes.
