Measures and logs carbon dioxide (CO2) levels in the air.

To assess how well ventilation is functioning in a room, carbon dioxide levels are measured, providing an indication of how effectively the air is being exchanged. The measurement also serves as an indicator of the likely concentrations of other substances present in the air. Carbon dioxide itself is not toxic, but it displaces oxygen in the air, and high values indicate that the air is not being refreshed frequently enough.
A common guideline for indoor carbon dioxide levels is 1,000 ppm (parts per million). This value is used as an indicator and does not mean that levels above it are harmful; however, people often experience difficulty concentrating when levels exceed this threshold. This effect often occurs gradually, and individuals may not react until they are already affected and feel heavy-headed.
